ANGUS SOCIAL SERVICES ON THE WHITE ROAD WITH MACKIE MOTORS

Angus Council has stuck with Renault’s New Clio when it came to replacing the fleet of cars used by the Social Services department.

In total, the council has 26 New Clio cars on the fleet – all in white – supplied by local Renault dealer Mackie Motors.

The New Clio cars replace a fleet of the outgoing Clio model, and were chosen after the council considered all the options.

Fleet Services Manager Willie Whyte said: “We found the Clio to be very reliable. When it came to replacing our social services fleet we tried lots of different vehicles, but we found the New Clio the most suitable. It has good access and good visibility as well as a five star Euro NCAP safety rating.

“The cars are used for visiting our clients and transporting them around the district. They are used seven days a week and we expect them to travel up to 20,000 miles a year.

We try to use local suppliers where possible and we’re pleased that we could choose Mackie Motors to provide and maintain the fleet. As the cars are based across the region, having access to workshops in Arbroath and Brechin is helpful for servicing.”

Dealer Principal of Mackie Motors Kevin Mackie: “I’m delighted we have been able to supply our local council with the vehicles it needs to carry out important work in the community. New Clio combines the low running costs of a supermini with the practicality of a larger car so it’s no wonder that it has proved popular with customers looking for a car for work, as well as our private customers.”
