POPULAR VALETER TAKES A SHINE TO RETIREMENT
A WEEL-KENT face in the local motoring trade has hung up his squeegee cloth. Car valeter Phil McLeod polished his final car at Brechin’s Mackie Motors last week, after 26 years with the firm.
The popular local man – known to many through his work in the local music scene – joined the firm in 1980 and spent most of his career at Mackie’s in the same role that he retired from on Friday.
“The place will not be the same without him,” said Franchise Director Grant Hood. “He lives in Brechin though, so it is more a case of au revoir than goodbye. “And the majority of staff will still see him in the town through his musical affiliations,” he added. |
